Just when you thought it would be another typical day down in the mine (*yawn*), you pull back on your cart’s brake lever and realize—oh no!—it isn’t working! Don’t fret. This train has been delivering golden good times with its out-of-control shenanigans since it arrived on the Six Flags St. Louis scene in 1971. That makes it the very first coaster this park ever had, and a perfect introduction to the thrill of roller coasters for the younger adventurers!

Hop in and hang on to your hard hats! Rumbling along at 35+ miles per hour, miners of all ages will reap loads of fun from this mine’s twists and turns, as they race around unpredictable track, past prospectors and depots, delightfully dipping into dark caverns.

In these tunnels, all that glitters isn’t gold. Sometimes it’s just plain ol’ exciting fun! River King Mine Train is one classic treasure you’d have to be a fool not to seek out!
